Lighting and ventilation are the main functions of continuous rooflights. However, continuous rooflights are a major hazard for people on the roof. As with domed rooflights, dangerous accidents can also occur with continuous rooflights, unfortunately often resulting in serious falls.
For this reason, the current standard requires, among other things, that lighting elements must be permanently protected against falling through or secured with appropriate defences. Likunet® railing is the ideal solution for continuous rooflights.
Likunet® reling with Barrial® elements is a high-quality side protection system in accordance with EN 13374 class A, which is installed on standard continuous rooflights. It protects people who are on the roof for maintenance and repair work from stepping on or unintentionally loading the continuous rooflights and thus from a possible fall through.
Used correctly, Likunet® reling protects the homeowner and planner from unpleasant liability consequences that can arise in the event of a fall through. No additional changes to the lighting system are necessary. The side protection system is installed after completion or on the existing continuous rooflight.
Thanks to the slimline design, the incidence of light remains virtually unrestricted, thus guaranteeing optimum lighting for the rooms below.
